Bart's a boy, but the person who does his voice is female! She's Nancy Cartwright, and she does very well of talking the voice of someone who is the opposite gender.

She was born in 1959 in Dayton, Ohio, USA.

Nancy started voicing Bart in 1987, when the Simpsons first aired on the "Tracey Ullman Show". She's been doing it ever since to the current series now. She Won the 1992 Emmy for 'Outstanding Voice-Over Performance' in The Simpsons, for Bart in The Simpsons, and an Annie Award Winner -- Outstanding Individual Achievement for Voice Acting in the Field of Animation, November 1995.

Nancy recently completed a book titled "My Life as a 10 year old boy", you can still buy this in the shops now.

She has also had roles in Fame, Marian Rose White, Empty Nest, Cheers, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Twilight Zone, The Movie, Flesh and Blood, A Tangled Web and Suddenly. She is also now voicing a few other characters, one recently being Chuckie from "Rugrats".
